What is the point of a capacitor?
In circuit science, the ability of a capacitor to store a charge, called a capacitor, is given a voltage, labeled C. In the International System of Units, the unit of capacitance is Farah, labeled F. Most of the circuit diagrams indicate the capacitance at the beginning of C, for example: C01, C02, C03, C100, etc.
Capacitance, in general, a total of 6 points:
(1) DC blocking
The so-called isolated DC is actually the function of the high-pass filter. Here, Qualcomm means that high frequency signals can pass, while low-frequency signals are hard to pass, and DC can't pass.
(2) Reactive power compensation
In a power distribution system, the load is generally an inductive load, causing the current in the system to lag behind the voltage, producing reactive power. Therefore, in the power distribution system, it is often necessary to connect some compensation capacitors in parallel in order to increase the system power factor and reduce the degree of the current lag behind the voltage. This use of capacitors is called compensating reactive power compensation.
(3) Filtering
The filtering reflects the integral action of the capacitor on the signal. How is the filter capacitor designed? Quite simply, suppose the output voltage of a regulated power supply is 12V. The current is 2A, and dividing 12 by 2 gives 6, which means that the load resistance is approximately 6 ohms. When the load changes, we expect the output voltage of the regulated power supply to be basically unchanged. We take 5 times the time constant of 100 milliseconds, so we just have to use the filter capacitor with a nominal capacity of 3300 microfarads. However, the withstand voltage of this capacitor should be large enough. A 0.01 microfarad capacitor is often placed in parallel with the filter capacitor. Its purpose is to remove high-frequency interference signals.
(4) used to build the oscillator
Oscillators are no stranger to us, such as sine wave oscillators, square wave oscillators, sawtooth oscillators, and so on. Capacitors are inextricably linked to the structural components of these oscillators.
(5) Storage of electrical energy
It is said that electric vehicles that have been displaced by high-energy capacitor energy storage have been used.
(6) Establish phase shifting power supply
For a single-phase motor, it consists of two sets of windings. One group uses a single-phase AC voltage, and the other uses a phase-shift voltage obtained from a series connection of a single-phase power supply so that the motor windings can generate a rotating magnetic field in the rotor.
The capacitance is reduced by the capacitive reactance of the capacitor, which is commonly utilized in chargers. Charging and discharging are the most basic forms of motion of capacitors in various electronic circuits.
