Description
The TPS5430DDAR from Texas Instruments is a high-performance step-down (buck) DC/DC switching regulator designed for a wide range of applications, including industrial systems, power modules, and embedded designs. It supports a wide input voltage range of 5.5V to 36V and delivers up to 3A continuous output current (4A peak), achieving high efficiency of up to approximately 95% through its integrated low-RDS(on) MOSFET.
The device operates at a fixed 500kHz switching frequency, enabling the use of smaller external inductors and capacitors for compact circuit design. Its adjustable output voltage can be set as low as 1.22V, making it suitable for various load requirements. In addition, it integrates key features such as internal compensation, soft start, undervoltage lockout, and overcurrent/overtemperature protection, reducing external component count and enhancing overall system reliability.
The TPS5430DDAR comes in a SOIC-8 PowerPAD package, offering excellent thermal performance. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, it is well-suited for applications in industrial control, telecommunications equipment, automotive electronics, and distributed power systems.
